About Bacterial Endotoxins Test (BET) Preparation
Proper sample preparation is critical for the Bacterial Endotoxins Test (USP <85>). Samples must be diluted to overcome interference (inhibition/enhancement) but must not exceed the Maximum Valid Dilution (MVD), otherwise, the limit of detection will be compromised.
1
Determine MVD: This tool calculates the MVD based on your Product Limit and the Sensitivity of the Lysate used.
2
Select a Dilution: Choose a dilution factor that is less than the MVD (usually MVD/2 or MVD/4) to safely test the product without interference.
3
Follow the Recipe: Use the generated preparation guide to mix the sample with LAL Reagent Water (LRW).
Key Calculation Formula
MVD = (Endotoxin Limit × Sample Conc) / λ
Recipe Vol (Sample) = Total Vol / Dilution Factor
